Account data: Name, email address, date of birth, gender, and location provided during registration.
Profile data: Personality questionnaire responses, interests, deal-breakers, relationship goals, and communication style samples used to create your AI agent.
Photos: Images you upload, stored securely with encryption and only shared with your explicit consent.
Payment data: Billing information processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
Communications: Messages you send through the Service, support inquiries, and feedback.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically:

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, and interaction patterns.
Device data: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and IP address.
Cookies: Essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

Create and operate your AI agent and provide personalized compatibility analysis
Process payments and manage your subscription
Find and suggest compatible matches based on your preferences
Improve our matching algorithms and service quality
Communicate with you about your account, updates, and service-related matters
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
Comply with legal obligations

3. AI Agent Data Processing

Your AI agent uses your personality data and communication style to simulate conversations and assess compatibility with other users' agents. Agent-to-agent conversation data is processed in real time to generate compatibility scores. This data is used solely for providing the matching service and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Photo Privacy

Photos are private by default. They are stored with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Photos are only revealed to a specific match when both parties explicitly consent to photo sharing. Photos are never publicly accessible, indexed by search engines, or used for advertising.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We share data only with the following categories of service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

Cloud infrastructure: Microsoft Azure (hosting and storage)
AI model providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), for AI agent processing
Payment processors: For subscription billing (we never store your full payment details)
Email services: For transactional emails and account notifications
Law enforcement: When required by valid legal process

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
Secure cloud storage with access controls and audit logging
Regular security assessments and vulnerability monitoring
Principle of least privilege for all system access
Hashed and salted password storage

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data, photos, AI agent data, and conversation history are permanently deleted within 30 days. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data for analytical purposes. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Portability: Request export of your data in a machine-readable format

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

11. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing your personal data includes: (a) your consent; (b) performance of a contract (providing the Service); and (c) legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service). 12. Children's Privacy

Datebook is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
